Embryolisse began in 1950 with a simple skincare product formulated by Doctor Tricot, a dermatologist at the Saint-Louis Hospital in Paris. The product entered the Vidal dictionary in 1955. Dermatologists started prescribing it, and make-up artists then adopted it for the tired skin of actresses and models.
That product became the Lait-Crème Concentré, a multi-purpose cream. In 1997 Nazoura Cassam-Chenaï took over the company with her husband Alain, a pharmacist. The company is French, family-owned and makes its products in France.
