La Roche-Posay takes its name from a medieval town in the Vienne, in western France, whose thermal springs have been used for skin care for centuries. A dermatology thermal centre opened there in 1905 and still treats patients today.
The skincare brand was founded in 1975 around that thermal water. Its formulas are developed for sensitive skin and tolerance, and the brand is sold in more than 60 countries.
