Onagrine was created in 1981 by the Roussel Uclaf laboratories and was the first anti-ageing beauty brand sold in pharmacies. Its origins go back to the 1970s and the work of Alexandre Bailly, a pharmacist and botanist.
Beiersdorf bought the brand in 2001, and it left pharmacy shelves in 2006. A group of entrepreneurs bought it back in 2009, and Noreva acquired it in 2013. Its products are made in France, and its signature plant is the evening primrose, valued for its essential fatty acids.
